Manuscript Submission

AKTUALNOŚCI NEUROLOGICZNE publishes review articles, original papers, case reports, book reviews, reports from scientific congresses and letters to the editor. Interdisciplinary papers, dealing with issues form the fields of deontology and ethics are also welcome, as well as short notices about planned congresses and other scientific events.

AKTUALNOŚCI NEUROLOGICZNE are published in Polish. Papers by foreign authors may be published in a foreign language. Manuscripts should be submitted in 3 (three) copies with a diskette enclosed, to the address of the Editor-in-Chief:

Submission of a manuscript for publication is equivalent to the statement, that it was never published before, neither has it been submitted for publication in any other journal. The Editor kindly reminds that experimental studies involving humans are subjected to the requirements of the Helsinki Convention; authors should sign a statement that they have obtained an acceptation of a respective Bioethical Commission.

Papers submitted for publication are peer-reviewed by two independent experts. In the case of rejection, two copies and diskette are returned to the author.

Manuscript
  1. Volume of papers is not limited.
  2. Manuscripts should be printed on A4 pages, double-spaced. On the left, there should be a 3 cm margin, on the right – a 1 cm margin.
  3. The first page should include: first name(s) and last name(s) of all authors, title of the article, name and full address of the affiliation center, contact phone number and e-mail.
  4. Text of the article should be preceded by an abstract in Polish and English, 200-250 words’ long. Abstracts of original papers should be structured, i.e. they should be subdivided into the following sections: Introduction, Material and Method, Results and Conclusions. Below, there should be at least 5 key words, also in Polish and in English.
  5. Tables should be included with the manuscript, each table on a separate A4 page. Title of table and internal headings should be in Polish and in English. Tables should be numbered with Arabic numerals.
  6. Figures should be submitted in 3 copies, drawn with black ink on technical tracing paper or as white/black or color photographies on glossy paper. Titles of figures and internal descriptions should be in Polish and English. Figures should be numbered with Arabic numerals.
  7. References should be listed in order of citation. The list should include (in that order): last name, initial(s) of first name(s) of authors(s) (if more than 3, after the 3rd name put “i wsp.”); title of paper (in the language of origin), name of journal (or its abbreviation according to the Index Medicus nomenclature), year, volume (no.), initial page-final page (all in Arabic numerals). In the case of books: name(s) and initial(s) of first name(s) of author(s), title of the book, editor, place and year of edition. Chapters in a monography should be cited by quoting (in that order): last name(s) and initial(s) of first name(s) of author(s), title of the chapter, then a “W:”, then last name(s) and initial(s) of first name(s) of editor(s) of the monography, title of the monography, editor, place and year of edition.
Submission on electronic media
The Editor encourages to submit manuscripts on electronic media. Accepted are: 3.5’ diskettes IBM-formatted, ZIP100 discs, JAZ1GB discs, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM discs. Disc description should include: first and last name(s) of author(s), title of the manuscript, name(s) of documents and folders and names and numbers of version of the programmes used. Discs should contain only the final version of the manuscript. Texts and graphics should be saved as separate documents. The Editorial Office recommends the use of the MS Word text editor. The ASCII format will be accepted too. Graphics may be edited in most available programmes – recommended formats are: *EPS, *AI, *TIF, *CDR, *WMF. For creation of graphs, we recommend the use of the programme Corel Draw or MS Excel.

Copy right
The Editor acquires, on the basis of exclusivity, all authors’ rights concerning the published material, and to publish it both in Poland and abroad in the scope determined by the article 50 of the Copy Right Act of the 4th July 1994 (Official Journal of the Polish Government, no. 24, item 83) and in the Internet. On the grounds of such a usage of submitted material, authors are not entitled to any renumeration, except if the Editor decides otherwise. The Editor has the right to honor outstanding papers with a pecuniary prize. Authors receive 5 copies of printed paper free of charge. Abstracts of papers published may be copied and published without written consent of the Editor.
